What buyers Do NOT want to see!
What Defiance area buyers DO NOT want to see! Well, for starters they do not want to see your house & the way you live in it... sound strange? They want to see them selves living in your listed home! You may be asking "How in the world can I do that Karol?" Let me tell you the ways... 1) If you are listing your home you are going to be moving right? Pack up your personal items, safely pack your family photos... save them for display at your new house! Buyer's WILL look at your wedding photos rather than your crown molding in the living room! 2) De-clutter, then go back and de-clutter again! Minimize your accessories and minimize your furniture, it will make your rooms appear larger! 3) Neutralize your colors... neutral paint and floor covering leaves the buyer open to using their own color selections not yours, remember we want the buyer to picture them selves in your listed house! "But Karol my house needs a dash of color to brighten it up" It's OK to do that, add color with pillows, area rugs, lamps, flowers & greenery... a few accessories can go a long way! 4) Light it up, keep lights on for showings. I showed a house yesterday, the seller had every light in the house on for us... very nice! 5) Clean, clean and clean some more! Bleach, glass cleaner and furniture polish is your best friend while your home is listed... then light a yummy candle for fresh fragrance before the buyer is expected to walk in the front door! Two years ago my husband and I was sellers, was it work making our listed home buyer ready? Yap is was! Did our house sell? Yap it did, we sold our home is 7 weeks! So... what do Defiance area buyers NOT want to see? They do not want to see dirty dishes on a full kitchen counter top, a bath room that needs some cleaning, a dining room full of catch all stuff, carpets that need a good shampooing, a front lawn in need of raking and windows that you can't even see out of! Really it is common sense... put your self in the shoes of the buyer, walk around the exterior and interior of your house, then ask yourself... would I want to buy this house?
